New Brunswick had a world-class food and beverage sector that no one was telling a coherent story about. Producers were disconnected from distributors. The 'buy local' movement lacked a credible platform. Government funding existed in silos. The province needed more than a campaign — it needed an industry defining structure that could outlast any single initiative. The ask came to Portfolio: help us figure out what this sector actually needs — and then build it.

We consulted producers, processors, retailers, restaurateurs, and government alike. The sector wanted to be seen, celebrated, and connected.

Working through the full ReThink™ Process, Portfolio moved from Reassess — mapping the current fragmentation and opportunity gaps — through to Reimagine and Reframe, where we developed the organizational concept, mission positioning, and governance model for what would become Saveur NB.

We designed an organization that didn’t exist before our work began — a new brand anchored in a clear value proposition: celebrating the innovation, freshness, and diversity of New Brunswick’s food and beverage sector. Saveur NB launched as a first-of-its-kind, industry-led, government-supported not-for-profit.
